Non-Violence Day celebrated.
HURPES organized a talk program on 2nd October , 2011 in Kathmandu to commemorate International Day of Non- Violence under the theme of " Non-violence Harmony Tolerance and Nepalese Society".
MP Ram Chandra Poudel, Vice Chair of Nepali Congress Party and leader of NC Parliamentary committee was the chief guest of the program while Chair of Constitutional committee of CA MP Nilambar Acharya, Krishna Pahadi , Puskar Shah, Dr. Arjun Karki, Kumar Raj Subedi, Ratna Laxmi Shrestha, Mahesh Acharya were other speakers. The program was chaired by HURPES CEC chair Homa Kanta Chaulagai.
HURPES celebrated International Day of Peace
HURPES organized a talk program in Kathmandu to celebrate International Day of Peace on 21 September 2011. Various speakers from different walk of life shed light on the theme "Peace accord , respect of human rights and constitution drafting".
Former speaker Daman Nath Dhungana, Prof. Lok Raj Baral, Prof. Krishna Khanal, Shyam Shrestha, Literature Parashu Pradhan,Dr. Kedra Narshing KC, Dr. Sushila Malla, Govinda Bandi, Tula Narayan Sah, Krishna Kandel and Mahesh Acharya were the speakers of the program.
In the program KRISHNA PAHADIKA KAVITA [collection of poems] written by Krishna Pahadi were also released .

HURPES anniversary day celebrated
HURPES organized a talk program on 2nd June [19 Jestha] in Kathmandu and celebrated its 16th anniversary day. Various personalities from different walk of life including Krishna Pahadi Founding Chair of HURPES, Human Rights activist Sushil Pyakurel, Writer Khagendra Sangraula, Journalist C.K. Lal, Former Chair of Nepal Medical Association Kedar Narshingh K.C. , General Secretary of Nepal University Teachers Association Rameshwor Upadhyaya, Director Of AI Nepal Rameshwor Nepal, Chair of NCBL Purna Shova Chitrakar , Human Rights activist Krishna Kandel ,Gangadhar Adhikari, Mahesh Acharya, Kumar Raj Subedi and three youth leaders of three major political parties[ Ram Bahadur Thapa , Constituent Assembly member from UCPN, Lokesh Dhakal of Nepali Congress and Sher Bahadur Tamang of UML Party] expressed their opinion on the subject "Honesty is needed for constitution writing and peace process". This function was presided by HURPES Chair Homa Kant Chaulagai. More than 300 persons from different organizations and HURPES members attended the function.

HURPES celebrated Republic Day
HURPES organized special program in Kathmandu on 29 May 2011 [ 15 Jestha] to celebrate 4th Republic day .In the function , Krishna Pahadi Founding Chair of HURPES, Civil Society leader Dr. Devendra Raj Panday , Youth leader of Nepali Congress Party and Constituent Assembly [CA]member Gagan Thapa, Youth leader of UML Party and CA member Rabindra Adhikari , Former Minister Hom Nath Dahal ,Chair of Democratic thought Society Professor Dr. Jiva Raj Pokhrel,General Secretary of Amnesty International Nepal Section Rashmila Bhochimaya,Human Rights activist Krishna Kandel, Gangadhar Adhikari, Mahesh Acharya was the speaker of the program. The function was presided by HURPES Chair Homa Kant Chaulagai. More than 200 persons from different walk of life participated the function.
Nepal was declared 'Republic' on 15 Jestha 2065 B.S. and HURPES was leading organization which campaigned to establish Democratic Republic through non-violent struggle.
HURPES is organizing various programs to pressurize the political parties to draft new constitution through this Constitution Assembly in a given time frame.
HURPES District Committees are conducting District Trainings Programs.
HURPES District Comittes organized a Sit-in demonstration in-front of District Administration Office Nationwide on 27 April 2011 demanding timely drafting and promulgation of new constitution and handed over a memorandum to the Prime minister through the respective CDO office.

National Training Workshop: HURPES organized a 3 day National training workshop in Beni Myagdi starting from 4 February to 7 February. 80 Persons from HURPES District committees and coordinators participated in the programs. This training was conducted and imparted by HURPES founding chair- Krishna Pahadi, CEC chair - Homa Kanta Chaulagai, Vice Chair- Mohan Prasad Dhital, General Secretary- Gangadhar Adhikari and Director of AI Nepal Rameswor Nepal . In the training workshop, various issues widely discussed including Comprehensive Peace Accord and provision of Human Rights, Issues of Human Rights to be included in the new constitution, ICC, Human Rights, Peace, Nonviolence, and Democracy. Meanwhile on 4th of February HURPES organized 10 interaction programs in 10 local schools on Child rights in Myagdi. A human rights poem symposium also held .HURPES also organized a peace rally. Finally HURPES also organized 4 KM walk /rally focusing on health rights .HURPES Myagdi district committee host these events and covered all expenses of the workshop.

HURPES organized 4 separate interaction programs on human rights and peace in association with 4 colleges and higher secondary schools in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur district
HURPES organized nationwide programs on the occasion of 62nd International Human Rights Day [10 December 2010]. HURPES prepared a concept paper for the program and circulated to its district committees focusing on timely drafting of new constitution and successful completion of peace process.
HURPES organized 15 programs in 15 School of Kathmandu on the occasion of International Child Rights Day [20 November] focuing on the rights of the Child. HURPES representatives presented papers on the occasion. These programs were jointly organized with several Schools and PABSON western regional committee of Kathmandu.
HURPES GORKHA district committee alone organized 8 programs in 8 Schools in that occasion.
HURPES delegation met with chairman of Constituent Assembly [CA] Subash Nembang on 3rd November. and drew attention for timely drafting of new constitution. HURPES also urged to contribute to make success peace process.

HURPES district committees organised more than 6 symposia in Sindhupalchowk, Baglung, Myagdi, Parvat, Kathmandu and Gorkha districts in October- November ,as part of its campaign to exert pressure to draft new constitution on time. HURPES also demanded Human Rights based democratic constitution .HURPES presented concept paper on this theme. Representatives of various political parties, civil Society expressed their opinion.
HURPES delegation met with UNMIN chief Karin Landgren on 12 October.
HURPES organised a sit-in demonstration in front of Constituent Assembly [CA] building on 11th October 2010, demanding timely drafting and promulgation of new constitution. HURPES urged immediate ratification if ICC statute.HURPES also urged to stop animal sacrifice in the name of rituals.
