Human Rights and Peace Society [HURPES ]
organized 50 programs including 42 mass meetings and 8
public meetings on Democracy Peace in 46 districts of Nepal
from 23 December 2006 -16th July 2007 . These mass
meetings were organized in Lalitpur, Kavre , Bhaktapur Arghakhachi, Makawanpur[Hatia] , Bara [Simara] ,
Chitwan, Mahottari[Jaleswor] , Rautahat , Sarlahi [Malangawa] , Udayapur
[Gaoghat] , Morang [Biratnagar], Sunsari [Tarahara] , Terhthum, Ilam,Panchthar.Rupandehi[Butwal] , Kapilvastu [Taulihawa ] , Bara [Kalaiya] Parsa [Birgunja]
, Dhanusa [Janakpur] , Siraha , Dhankuatta , Chitwan [ Chanauli] ,
Nawalparasi [ Kawasoti], Kathmandu, Banke[Nepalgunj], Dailekh, Ramechhap,
Sindhupalchowk, Dhading,Makawanpur[Hetauda], Gorkha, Parvat, Myagdi,
Baglung, Syanga, Kaski, Tanahu, Lamjung, Palpa, Dang, Surkhet, Bardiya,
Kailali[Tikapur], Kanchanpur, Achham [ Mangalsen] , Achham [Sanfe Bagar],
Doti, and Dadeldhura.

members and coordinators, representatives of local civil society
and representatives of various political parties expressed their opinion
in these programs.
- HURPES organized press conference in
Kathmandu on 5th July 2007 .
- Human Rights &
Peace Society organized a sit-in / mass meeting in Maiti Ghar
Kathmandu to mark HURPES 11th anniversary day and made public 10
points recommendation for human rights ,peace and democracy .Those 10
points recommendation were handed over to Right Hon'ble Speaker
of Interim Parliament Subash Nembang and to another 15 member of
Parliament representing various political parties in that program. At
the end of program, Speaker of Interim Parliament Subash Nembang ,
Founding Chair of HURPES Krishna Pahadi , Chair Of HURPES Purushottam
Dahal expressed their opinion. Around thousand
people participated in progrgrams including a dozen members of
parliament , former speaker, senior politicians , representatives of
various Human Rights organizations and professional organizations.
