Kathmandu, april 1 (RSS): Police held altogether 34 activists staging a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday. The rights activists of the Human Rights and Peace Society staged the agitation for promotion of goodwill and calling an end to violence, hatred and impunity.
The Society organizes such demonstration on Chaitra 17 every year. The Society staged the agitation stating that the government was preparing to withdraw the case against alleged of the Tikapur carnage. Founder President of the Society Krishna Pahadi, President Dr Gangadhar Adhikari, advisor Homkant Chaulagain, founder member Krishna Kandel and others were held and have been kept in Nepal Police Club, Bhrikutimandap, according to the Society.

KATHMANDU: The Human Rights and Peace Society demonstrated in front of the United Nations office at Pulchowk for an hour on Tuesday against the mass killings in Syria. HURPES also submitted a memorandum to the UN calling for an end to the war raging there. HURPES is a non-governmental, apolitical and membership-based nonprofit with more than 10,000 volunteers across Nepal. Addressing the event, HURPES founding chairman Krishna Pahadi appealed to stop the killing of innocent people in Syria.
